punjab market vegetable samosa
pastry turnover with potatoes, peas, and Indian spices served with green chile chutney – often eaten at a stall in an Indian spice market on a hot day with a cup of chai tea.
monsoon mirchi
two banana peppers stuffed with lentils and Indian cheese and fried in chickpea batter. It is said that they are enjoyed in the Indian monsoon season.
bindi chaat fry
okra sliced lengthwise, fried until crisp, and tossed with chat masala, red onions, tomatoes and fresh cilantro. It looks like a tangle of crisp green hay, and the texture and taste are beyond description.
hot bollywood lollipops
chicken drumsticks marinated in serrano peppers and green papaya then tandoor roasted and served with seriously hot chile sauce and our cooling dill raita.
